I didn't make it to Glastonbury this year, and to be honest the Pyramid and other main stages don't really appeal to me any longer; Lionel Richie looked like a load of fun but the heart of the festival and the diversity of acts lives well outside the Pyramid Stage now. In saying that The Park Stage is one of the main stages but often hosts many of the more interesting bigger electronic and rock acts over the years, And this guy here, Jon Hopkins, has built on his incredible album live over the last year demonstrated with this inspiring performance of 'Open Eye Signal'.

TAME IMPALA - Cause I'm A Man
Tame Impala are investing in interesting video to launch their new album full of psychedelic indie rock and disco; 'Cause I'm A Man' seems to incorporate those prominent 80's soft rock sounds even further. But that's not entirely fair, more than that you can hear (singer/guitarist) Kevin Parker walking down a Beatles inspired lane across these few singles from the new album, reinforcing his reputation as tunesmith of formidable talent.
The 'live-action' video featuring a new Muppets house band is great and changes the tone from the same song released as a Max Headroom-like 3D video a couple of weeks ago.
That's also below after the new clip. But really this can't touch 'Let It Happen' another cut from their new album 'Currents' out July 17th via Interscope.

Mikal Cronin - Say (Live on KEXP)
There's a new Mikal Cronin album 'MCIII' and here's a fizzing taster live on Seattle's KEXP.
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes - Live @ Sang Bleu London
I'm very excited about this - an E.P from Frank Carter's (Gallows, Pure Love) new band, The Rattlesnakes, is available now to buy and UK tourdates loaded. Check out the new material from the E.P here.

Ghost Culture - Giudecca
I discovered Ghost Culture from his work with Daniel Avery, whom you may know from the superb 2013 album - Drone Logic. Ghost Culture is Londoner James Greenwood and his self-titled debut is an earworm journey through techno and pop music & most notably here stopping off for a Poppy tea with Depeche Mode along the way. Check out his self-titled album and he's on tour with a band bringing these sounds to the stage in quite a different way. Apparently he was sick of seeing people lent over a laptop when playing 'live', something I wholeheartedly agree with after seeing Nathan Fake at the Land Of Kings festival in London over the weekend.

Raketkanon - Anna
Belgium's Raketkanon deliver menacing psych with a crazed grunge streak and for this video they sent up one of the most famous videos of the MTV generation, Guns N Roses - November Rain. It's excellent and frankly I can't believe it hadn't been done yet.
They're playing tonight at the Shacklewell Arms too:
Wednesday, April 29th
£5 Adv | Doors: 8pm
Raketkanon, Trojan Whores

Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear - Silent Movies (Live on Letterman)
WOW, I caught this performance on Later With Jools Holland, but the sound mix is better on their Letterman performance, but doesn't look quite as good! Arggh. Let's bring the two shows together and it would be perfect.
They are a mother & son duo from Kansas City and they are fantastic, check this out.

Jenny Lewis - Silver Lining - Live from Coachella, April 12, 2015
Another Coachella passes me by, but we still have the opportunity to catch some of those classic performances after the fact *sponsors name not included*. I've watched a bunch of the performances back, none of the hip-hop grabbed me, not even my favourite guy, Action Bronson, but then live hip-hop rarely does unless it's a small club show or the Roots. I don't want to knock anyone, but I will say that Bad Religion and Jenny Lewis stood out like those palm trees in the desert. And this version of 'Silver Lining' is beautiful, if you didn't catch it treat yourself here and drag out all those Jenny Lewis albums for the weekend.

ANTEMASQUE - In The Lurch (Live)
Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala have reunited with a new project mixing all bits we loved from At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta; punk rock progressions, dynamic range and power pop. It's a superb record and definitely worth catching live as they embark on a world tour with Le Butcherettes.

Agnes Obel - Words Are Dead (Berlin Live Session)
I'm actually speechless and would be foolish to say any more considering the song's name.

Kill J - You Have Another Lover (Live)
WOW! What a spellbinding performance from Copenhagen duo Kill J shot during the Øyafestivalen in Norway last year at Andre Bratten's studio in Oslo. 'You Have Another Lover' follows the super single 'Bullet'.

Courtney Barnett Performs 'Avant Gardener'
I posted the official video for this song at the end of last year and now here she is fresh from Melbourne launching the worldwide campaign for fringe domination in Brooklyn. Incredible, more Courtney please!

Joanna Gruesome - Sugarcrush
Joanna Gruesome is headlining the show with "September Girls" as mentioned in my previous post this Thursday. So have a gander at this cut & paste nightmare wonder of a video melting into it like an interplanetary convergence has distorted reality turning it into a pop culture hell. Or something.
More 90s sounds coming from the new generation duly noted.

September Girls - Heartbeats
September Girls are an all-girl five pieces, hyphen encouraging garage pop band from Dublin with influences heavily indebted to MBV, Indigo Girls, Lush and the 90s shoegaze sound. 'Heartbeats' is the first single to be taken from the forthcoming Fortuna POP! album.

They're playing in London January 9th too.

DARKSIDE - Paper Trails
RA Sessions deliver a cracker here with Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington working out 'Paper Trails' live, a track from their superb debut "Psychic". Fans of Nicholas Jaar will not be disappointed, if fact I don't think anyone could be with this magical musical creation.

Drenge - Face Like A Skull
I can't wait to get my mitts on the Drenge album and here's another reason why. Thrashy and trashy good times from a formidable duo renowned for kicking out the jams. Did you see them play with Deap Vally on their UK tour? Me neither and I'm not happy about it. So while I get another batch of DMT ready, YOU get flossing to this.

Vision of Disorder - Hard Times
NYC Hardcore veterans Vision Of Disorder are still stamping on throats and screaming at walls and the world is a better place for it. This is taken from their latest, "The Cursed Remain Cursed".
