They call it puppy love. 'Have You In My Wilderness' is out September 25th on Domino.
He grew up in the outskirts of LA listening to Slayer, Cannibal Corpse and Hardcore and now makes beats steeped in loneliness and isolation. It's got an early Ninja Tune sound and feel to it but roughed up and lonelier, alot lonelier. Still it's how I like my beats, melancholic. Most certainly check out his album 'Automaton' on Innovative Leisure and get a glimpse into a distant childhood (although I don't think it's his) through this abstract video.
Maybe, they are definitely one with the most historical influences across rock - Replacements, Ramones, Husker Du... but throw in sweet keyboard lines and you have something entirely different though, something entirely more... White Reaper.
These whippersnappers emerged quickly out of a thriving scene of metal, punk, and noise bands in Louisville, Kentucky. A self-titled E.P released last year demonstrated the verve and great songs despite the kitchen sink recording. 'White Reaper Does It Again' LP shows the band naturally extending their sound and revealing much more depth and understanding of their lineage beyond bratty punk.
I don't think the video adds much here, as a scene lifted from a movie called 'Age Of Reason', so I recommend you check out a live session or show and see them play.
Don't fear the reaper.
It's a simple video but looks great and suits the heavy echoey horns, reverb-drenched guitars, and propulsive drums taking this instrumental track to soundtrack.
Cobaw, takes its name from a small town in the gold rush end of the Macedon Ranges. Scrubby forests, disused mine shafts and quiet dark lagoons border the grazing land.
It's wonderfully odd.
I think it's a great record and veers off in unexpected directions while still maintaing the Orb sound, style and absorbing length of single tracks. So, I invite you to take a look into the making of the album...
In saying that The Park Stage is one of the main stages but often hosts many of the more interesting bigger electronic and rock acts over the years, And this guy here, Jon Hopkins, has built on his incredible album live over the last year demonstrated with this inspiring performance of 'Open Eye Signal'.
They came together just over a year ago not as friends but auditioned players by bandleader, Juliette and play the kind of woozy guitar music Warpaint made on their first couple of albums and with a more indie edge. This little number is a great taste of their sound from the 'Sucker' single available on Rough Trade.
No doubt this will stir a debate in a comments sections somewhere, most specifically with song title but listen to the lyrics and you'll see that the title is a little misleading. I'm trying to spot some of the source material but having difficulty with the fast cut and paste style. It works brilliantly and it looks like they've used a Hieronymus Bosch painting, 'Garden Of Earthly Delights'. I would love to discover what movie it is they've ripped too.
So to refresh your palate I found this clip from last year via SEXBEATLONDON. This weird and wonderful video is from a three-song E.P released May of last year.

Check out more from Sex Beat as they run various live nights and a label which I returned to recently seeking out a band called 'Clawmarks' who supported Wytches at a Field Day warm-up show last week.
Out on Fat Wreck Chords the band (and label) have ridden the rollercoaster of shifting tastes and times to remain one of the influential bands coming out of the American hardcore scene of the 90s alongside other Fat favourites Good Riddance, Propagandi, NOFX and of course the genesis of the sound, Bad Religion.

The video references the song's theme of drugs and addiction, but it's the tune that really gets me.
Transmission.Alpha.Delta is out now.
Andrew Wyatt)Flume and Miike Snow's Andrew Wyatt have prepared a intoxicating glitch soup on the Australian producer's new single. In the video director Clemens Habicht (Tame Impala, Bloc Party, The Presets) invades the Sydney Opera House one evening and superimposes Australian Ballet member Callum Linnane throughout the glorious empty building.
But that's not entirely fair, more than that you can hear (singer/guitarist) Kevin Parker walking down a Beatles inspired lane across these few singles from the new album, reinforcing his reputation as tunesmith of formidable talent.
The 'live-action' video featuring a new Muppets house band is great and changes the tone from the same song released as a Max Headroom-like 3D video a couple of weeks ago.
That's also below after the new clip. But really this can't touch 'Let It Happen' another cut from their new album 'Currents' out July 17th via Interscope.
Benjamin John Power is one half of Fuck Buttons, and he also records more noisy, jarring electronic music on his own as Blanck Mass. His second album is out on Sacred Bones and covers nine songs of electrified, industrial, techno and noise. It's melodic entropy linking to the grotesque and suggestive album cover of 'Dumb Flesh', stating in the press release as, “a comment on the flaws of the human form in its current evolutionary state.”
The music video makes even less sense but it's an enthralling accompaniment to the music video.
