Ibeyi - River

The twin daughters of late Franco-Cuban musician Miguel 'Anga' Diaz, kind-of-identical sisters Naomi and Lisa-Kainde have just released their first EP as Ibeyi (which means twins) on XL Recordings.
Their music is a stripped take on the new RnB but by referencing their Cuban heritage and the Yoruba language with 'Westernised' electronics. And Richard Russell, head honcho of XL & producer is on production duties. This slides nicely next to the swell of new female RnB artists like FKA Twigs, Banks, Jhene Aiko and others but draws on a unique set of influences & geography.
Check out their first single and excellent accompanying video 'Oya', below.

The Oya EP is available to download now.
