The Naked And Famous - Frayed (Live)

They're a superb band from NZ, who have just released their debut album "Passive Me, Aggressive You" in the UK & Europe. I've heard many lazy references to MGMT, but if you want to cite influences I'd go for more Antipodean flavours like Bailterspace and the Headless Chickens.
They're in the UK right now for a headline shows; including the Great Escape Festival in Brighton this last weekend & plenty more coming up. My point is, they are very good live and the album was one of my favourites from last year as this live clip from the Lab proves.

  1. Yeah - fantastic. Was going to say they sound like loads of bands on the Canadian scene at the moment, but then the layers came through and brought in that distinctive NZ flavour - that oft surprising penchant for heavyness in light delivery... Classic Headless Chickens, Dimmer, etc - the fist in the glove as it were.

  2. Name some of those Canadian bands for further consideration please Lance... I think a band I posted about previously, The Joy Formidable, deliver a similar candy floss covered fist in the air.
