A superb band from Wellington, NZ performed last night in London at the Scala and lived up the reputation of MacGyver's employers' - mysterious, enigmatic and ahhh, I'm struggling with this metaphor - look they were really good. Their latest album 'Buffalo' is an exercise in pure blissed out guitar pop - whether channeling the Chills or Big Star, they create a intoxicating brew of shimmering guitars, bubbling synths and sweet, sweet vocal harmonies.
