Sub Pop continues its evolution from the home of grunge to the new Def Jux with innovative hip hop collective clipping and rounded off with equally interesting genre-bending acts; Shabazz Palaces, THEESatisfaction and Spoek Mathambo. As I understand it this is the most pop-focussed song on the album 'CLPPNG' which is out right now. And to complement this killer tune comes a suspense-building video which only adds to the mystery and menace in this song, marvellous work!

Ka - Off The Record

I've just caught Ka's album 'The Night's Gambit' and it's superb. I hope you'll agree this song and self-directed & edited video are superb and while the concept isn't original it's extremely well done. He checks some classic records and turns out a superb flow and I urge you to check what retrospectively would be amongst the best hip-hop records of 2013.

Negash Ali - What You Got

Unmistakably English hip-hop here - massive drums, bass and effects; it goes to show acts like Chase & Status' production influence on a new generation of aspiring grime & hip-hop heads. In fact I was surprised it wasn't on MTA (Chase & Status's Universal/Virgin EMI affiliated label).
A standard posturing video shot across Brixton still delivers an adequate introduction to an interesting young MC & (co) Producer.

Adian Coker - Cream

Aidan is an English MC and producer with a mixtape under his belt and another incoming. These facts may interest you, but they're not worth knowing til you've watched his  superb clip for 'Cream' below. Director Drew Cox has gone for a stylistic video heavy with dark imagery and some familiar hip-hop tropes that combine well. G.O.O.D Music should come knocking soon...

The Cool Kids - Rush Hour Traffic

'Rush Hour Traffic' is from Cool Kids new album, When Fish Ride Bicycles. Mikey & Chuck drive through Chicago, visiting some of their favourite spots before arriving at a venue to perform this song live. The video then receives a psychedelic graphic paint transforming the video into a comic book-like adventure.
