The Cactus Channel - Cobaw

Melbourne surf-rock inspired band The Cactus Channel take a strange journey in this video; is it a road trip or is it a horror trip!? It's a simple video but looks great and suits the heavy echoey horns, reverb-drenched guitars, and propulsive drums taking this instrumental track to soundtrack.
Cobaw, takes its name from a small town in the gold rush end of the Macedon Ranges. Scrubby forests, disused mine shafts and quiet dark lagoons border the grazing land.

Eastlink - Overtime

Here's some ragged garage rock off the debut album from Melbourne 4-piece, Eastlink. They mix punk, rock, psych and none in between into a hopped up barrage of new noise. Freshen up.

Home Travel - My Shadow

Melbourne duo Johann Rashid (Eastlink, Promise Land) and Will Farrier (Absolute Boys, You Beauty) express their inner turmoil and exorcise it playfully in this dark clip by Rashid.
Dancers Burncity Queenz and Enough Crew find inspiration amongst the frozen goods and crisps at their local Supermarket while Rashid and Farrier look on following a routine boxing session. It's got a surreal element to it that nods to David Lynch aptly soundtracked  by the dub bass and nagging off-kilter synth. Reminds me of early Ozzie gents 'The Presets' great work on the vocal, and has encouraged me to go forth and find the E.P at Boomkat, it's called 'My Shadow'.

Check out another superb tune 'Frequent Flyer' below if you want more...

Courtney Barnett - Avant Gardener

Melbournite Courtney Barnett's bad day confessional has so many great deadpan quotables while it still finds an ear worm tune. She even set up her own label, Milk Music to release this and others music. Check out "The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas" here.
