The expectation for Fiona Apple's new album "The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw, And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do" (June 19th, Epic) is incredibly high after a seven year gap since her last album 'Extraordinary Machine'.
Directed by Joseph Cahill, responsible for some great videos such as Beyonce & Jay-Z's 'Crazy in Love', Goldfrapp's 'Utopia' and many more weird shorts, TV & film.
It's a superb clip, and one of the best this year, managing to encapsulate Apple's song about dealing with, and often relishing, emotional pain. The Octopus waving madly in the background of the Parisian bridge while Apple sings is fantastic too & brings a sci-fi edge to this wonderfully weird, but beautifully imagined music video.
