Ceremony - Your Life In France

Ceremony continue their retro-revolution in sound taking channeling The Wire on 'Zoo' (2012), to the Wedding Present, The Fall & even Siouxsie and the Banshees. I love this song, it jumped right out at me and the video is strangely mesmerizing. Frontman Ross Farrar and director Dustin Aksland (http://dustinaksland.com) doing their best Jim Jarmusch homage... without the coffee.

'The L-Shaped Man' is out May 18/19 on Matador and of course they're on tour soon.

Cat Power - Manhattan

Chan has a few European dates coming up, namely Primavera in Barcelona at the end of May and a Roundhouse show in June. But this fine new video takes us on a tour of, you guessed it, and features on her superb 2012 album 'Sun'.
It's worth checking the Ryan Hemsworth remix featuring Angel Haze too which follows after the official video.

Chelsea Light Moving - Burroughs

This officially unofficial video says Thurston Moore of this video from his new project as a quartet featuring guitarist Keith Wood, of Hush Arbors, and Sunburned Hand of the Man drummer John Moloney and Samara Lubelski, plays bass. As Sonic Youth seem to be on permanent hiatus following his split with bassist & wife Kim Gordon, Thurston has set aside the strings and acoustic guitars that defined his previous two solo records and returned to his loud, discordant, shredding self with one of the noisiest records he's made in years.
The album is out today and a US tour already confirmed.

Cat Power - Cherokee

The new Cat Power album 'Sun' is great, and as a first song "Cherokee" sets up the record nicely. However, the video, with a blonde Chan Marshall possibly referencing her ex's new (blonde) wife, whatever the case, I don't like.
